This time she and I were at a coffee shop talking about her movie “Silver Linings Playbook.” I told her she was very lucky because she and Bradley Cooper had great chemistry in it together, which you really can’t predict or control. Conversely, I told her Denzel Washington, a great actor, got very unlucky in his movie “Flight” because his character was forced to have this really awkward, contrived relationship with a drug-addicted woman who is much younger than he is. The two are clearly just saying lines to each other so the plot can move along and the filmmakers can give audiences a phony reason to root for Denzel Washington’s character to get sober.
