So. I had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of two sweet gentleman that sat next to me at the Zac Brown concert...both of whom could have easily been pre judged as different. One was severely deaf (able to make out some sound with the use of hearing aids) and the other was profoundly deaf (only able to feel the vibrations of loud music). They had broken away from the ACL Music Fest (for which they both had 3-day passes), and made their way here to SA for tonights big concert. I got to dust off some of my olcollege sign language skills and learned that he, too, was celebrating his birthday. During the concert my mind started to wander...thinking about how many things I take for granted. Here I sat, next to 2 mega-music fans who cant even hear how truly magnificent this concert is and yet they enjoyed every minute of it! Hed ask me to explain when something on stage happened too fast, and joked that it helped when I sang along...I joked it was good he couldnt hear when I sang along. HA! Ben & I try to live life to the fullest, but after being introduced to these two -- we took a step back to think about the little blessings in our lives that are sometimes overlook. P.S. - It was an AWESOME concert! ;-)
