So I have a buckskin QH stallion who has sired red babies. This - TopicsExpress

So I have a buckskin QH stallion who has sired red babies. This makes him not HZ for black, correct? And I have a sooty/smutty palomino mare who is out of a liver chestnut mare and by a palomino stud who only sired two foals and was gelded. BOTH of his foals were palomino - one by my chestnut mare, the other by a sorrel (I know, red is red). This makes me wonder if he was HZ for something. Anyway...I plan to breed my buckskin stallion to my palomino mare. Color possibilities without color testing and with just guessing as to zygosity include perlino and cremello. Given this information, would you color test pre-breeding if you wanted to avoid a double dilute?
