So I have been thinking about the Parthenon marbles... Who actually owns them? The British government who bought them from Elgin, after he stole them from Greece while they were under ottoman rule. When at the time the British parliament didnt even agree between themselves to buy the marbles for the British museum. MP Hugo Hemmersley suggested they be sent back to Athens. This was back in 1816. Or do the Greek government own them? The people who are struggling financially and who have had ancestors who worshiped these marbles for thousands of years. My thought is that how about the Greek people in Greece benefit from their own artifices rather then the British!
