So I have returned from a successful moose hunt in northern New Hampshire. Normally I am not open with my emotions but this time I think it is time to let my children know it is O.K. to have feelings. This is the first moose hunt I have been on up north since my father passed away. He loved going on them and enjoying the company of family. When he passed I was asked if I wanted anything? I truly did not. However I did finally decide that I would take his hunting rifle. Although he loved it when we were successful I think he did not truly care if he got one. So i feel there was no true emotional attachment for him to that gun. With that said I have never been more proud of a hunt until this one. You see... I used his gun on something he truly loved to do. Needless to say there will always be an emotional attachment to that gun with my dad from this day forward. Although I never said it enough I Love You Dad.
