So I have to explain my Linked in Philosophy. Because of my fall - TopicsExpress

So I have to explain my Linked in Philosophy. Because of my fall 2011 post. For the young people. Who don’t understand the inception of the internet. No one had a personal desktop of email address when I was in high school. And the acquisition of email addresses for people grew over time. As well as the practice of email in general. Including at work places. In fact, when I was at Incarnation House from 2003 to 2006. We had very to little staff emails. If any at all. And just assigned an address for outside correspondence. And for random things. But an employee could go for days without checking their email. Since things communicated in person. So only big agency things many weeks in advance sent email. And then our bosses telling us to check it. While personal emailing took on its own form. And all job searching was done via US Postal mail. The internet had jobs listed. But places not accepting electronic submissions. Not until later in the 2000’s. And no one had a Linked in account. Since whenever that came out. And no point to it anyway. Has no actual employability factor. Just a social media that is work related. To connect with former colleagues. And if overseas or something. But a hiring employer does not care about a Linked In page. Since so dumb.
