So, I just saw another facebook friend fall victim to whats known as clickjacking. Clickjacking is, essentially, when a webpage does Y when the user expects it to do X. The most common example Ive seen on Facebook are the various She did this at everyday in school. It usually has a suggestive image of a some young girl. When you click the link, youre often taken to a page that looks like Facebook or YouTube. If you look at the URL, IT IS NOT either of those sites. If you click the the Play button (or in some cases, youre asked to enter a phrase or string of random characters before being allowed to view the video) what youre actually doing is clicking a link. THERE IS NO VIDEO. Often times, the link will send some information to a pay-by-click advertiser (giving the person who created the hack money) and usually makes a post back to Facebook on your behalf (so all your friends can see and click on it as well, spreading the hack.) Think before you click.
