So I just saw this and I have an answer. Because Man (humans) are thick headed. God gives us our own free will , because he does not want to control us, however, when given our own free will WE do as we please and often it isnt good. GOD had to get our attention in a big way. How amazing that God would love mankind so much that he would give his son to show us how much he loves us , a sacrifice I must admit I would NOT give and I am a Christian , but also a sinner by nature. I am selfish I wouldnt give up one of my kids willingly for ANYONE. NOT ANYONE. So when God gives a gift so great , how can you not trust him. He says here, I offer it, you can take it or leave it, it is your choice. I walk as a Christian because I have a personal relationship with God, because I accepted the gift long ago, I feel Gods presence, he answers my prayers and protects me from things sometimes before I even see it coming. I know he is there and lives in my heart.
