So I make it no secret...I am passionate about Arkansas Razorback - TopicsExpress

So I make it no secret...I am passionate about Arkansas Razorback Basketball. I follow the Hogs intensely, and find myself especially excited about this season, for several specific reasons: #1) Deep Impact. Depth. Arkansas has a squad full of interchangeable parts. A team of well conditioned, fast players...with similar skill sets and basketball ability on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Their bench depth provides the type of continuous motor that will keep the offensive tempo and defensive pressure in Arkansass favor for the full 40 minutes. #2) Highs and Lows. Available scoring: both inside and out. The Hogs finally have players that give a legitimate presence down low. Portis and Kingsley, both at 610, and the experienced and versatile Forward tandem of Clarke and Harris, give AR the ability to pound the ball inside and work the post. While, up high, shooting guards Bell and Haydar provide a consistent touch from beyond the arc to stretch defenses and give the Razorbacks the three-ball as an offensive weapon. #3) Showtime. Explosive talent. Once again at the guard position, AR possess players with quick first steps who can explode to the basketball, and finish at the rim. Get your cameras ready anytime Michael Qualls gets the ball in space with a clear lane to the basket. #4) The Rock Says...Know Your Role. Players, freshmen to seniors, have accepted their positions within the team. True Freshman and Sophomore players are accepting the fact that they are needed as immediate contributors, and are stepping up...while veteran senior leaders are comfortable in their roles off the bench. #5) Windex on the Glass. Offensive Boards. Pressure and transition will beat the weaker teams...but the stronger, well coachs teams know how to beat the press and slow the tempo. So, how do you win against those teams? The answer: pound the boards. We have the players that can clear the glass this year. Once again, Portis, Kinglsey, Clarke, Harris, and Qualls....all built for the boards. If AR wins the rebounding battle AND the turnover margin...there isnt a team out there that can beat them. And finally, #6) Third Times a Charm. Mike Anderson is in his third year as the AR Head Coach, and his blue print is being executed perfectly. He has successfully coached recruited to accent his style of play, and if history holds true, his team will be ready to make some serious noise in year 3. Personally, I stood on my feet in Dumas AR earlier this year, and applauded when Coach Anderson said, and I quote, Were not only going back to The Dance this year...but Im planning on dancing a while when we get there. So there ya go...six solid reasons to be excited about Arkansas Razorback Basketball this season. Hop on and enjoy the ride, folks. Wooo Pig Sooie!! Go Hogs Go!
