So I received my polling card today. Also today, some fools brought a goof of an actor to my country to represent and campaign for the ruling party. A Sri Lankan female who participated in the Miss Sri Lanka competition but now seems to be a Bollywood actress was also among the gathering. That makes me laugh. Ten years ago some promises were made, some were kept, some were broken. Over a decade some deals have been made over the table, most have been made under the table. A dynasty once unknown grew in fame and width and wealth. That makes me laugh. Three days ago most parts of this same country were declared areas of natural disaster while close to a million countrymen remain stranded without homes. Without food. Water rages through threatening higher land. But at least our highways are steady, right? And today some convict actor (So called Non Sri Lankan and he is facing allegation of murder due to drunken drive) is telling me who to vote for. Telling you who to vote for. That makes me laugh. Others make bright promises swearing alliances and allegiance. Smiles. Grins. Advertising to ensure that the democratic state can continue unsullied. Elections from now on will be free and fair. Or something like that. All hidden files will be revealed. Or something like that. Today I received my polling card. And that makes me laugh. All Jokers around.
