So I see post from my FB list mentioning things like Black Cops Kill Black teens and President Obama is a racist because he spoke out on Ferguson. Even Mayor Giuliani made statements that More Black Cops kill Black People What those folks arent understanding its an aspect of UN-justified power against the Black Male community since slavery. Statements like Black Men are animals, Criminals, Lazy, Shiftless, etc. is a stigma that hold in our community. Most people have no idea about telling their black male children be careful when dealing with the police Oh when you walk across the street, even in a suite and the doors lock. The feeling of helplessness when driving through a certain neighbourhood and being stopped with the only criteria is the color of your skin. Its about the power and lack of worth placed against the black male in the American community. In some cases, getting temporary respect if youre good at sports, you can sing or act. I say temporary because the moment you loose your mojo, you fall from grace fast. Some have embraced the stereotype by embracing the Gangster Persona Fuelling the stereotype further. Guess what, Black Males Matter We are more than thoughts of thugs. Were businessmen, fathers, men of faith, scientist, young children, etc. Most people can rattle of black sports figures and criminals, but cant name top black scientist, business men, etc. This is the reason for protest around the country.
