So I was cleaning up after breakfast this morning when the song in the light by Led Zeppelin came on Pandora. I was instantly transported back to my childhood. I remember the first time I heard that song. I was almost asleep when It came on the radio and I remember how haunting it was. If I could have only been a fly on the wall during the writing and recording of that music. The digital era of recording music is quite convenient but I miss the era of tape and analog recording. The romance in a recording session seems to have disappeared along with the 2 inch tape into the past. I remember that we had to run several mixes of the song Blossom in order to get the flanger movement just right in the midsection. Kelly Gray actually had a boss flanger pedal plugged into the board sitting right on top. At the beginning of that part he hit the pedal and off it went. Such great memories.
