So, I was doing some yardwork yesterday, and during a brief rest, I was surprised to see the cutest little grey and white creature scrambling all around my leaf compost pile. I made sure it was gone before I started to move leaves over into the corner compost pile. And what should I spy on my next rest but this tiny little guy, who is all of an inch long, cowering in the leaves in front of me! So I got a box, filled it with grass, and with a leaf herded it in. It soon fell asleep. Returning to the back yard, I heard a loud irritated sounding rodent squeek from behind the wire fence. And then another one. So I put the box hole end first against it, hoping the baby, dry oatmeal, and water would lure Mama. Today the baby, most of the water, and some oatmeal was gone, so heres hoping for a happy reunion. P.S. That is my actual size fingertip in the photo, so you can see how tiny the little guy is!
