So I was reminded of a funny thanksgiving happening years ago. After a night of drinking with some friends, I was taken back to my car in a Norfolk city garage (where I responsibly left it the night before). I found my car had been broken into and my dads camera stolen. In true April form, I completely lost my shit. After the initial overreacting and freaking out and calling the police, I called my dad to tell him I was going to be late to thanksgiving dinner. While on the phone with him, I was pacing and slipped on some oil. I slammed my phone shut and proceeded to run at the concrete wall and subsequently break my hand punching it. I cried I think I just broke my hand! To which my friend Tara Scott (who had been standing by watching the entire thing unfold) replied yep. Looks like it. See how thats 2 bad things now instead of 1? I then had to call my dad and tell him I was gonna be later since I had to go to the hospital. And while waiting for the ambulance, I learned my other friend Jacob Reide Jennings, who was caressing my hand to calm me, was deathly afraid of spiders. Including the one that crawled out of the wall causing him to squeeze my broken hand. After which, he sprayed my pepper spray in our general direction while playing with my keychain. The only thing funnier than the actual events happening was Taras daily reenactment for anyone wanting to laugh. Moral of the story: Have a memorable Thanksgiving. In a good way. Not in my way. Lol
