So I was standing in line at the main post office in Reno to overnight my South Carolina Board application. I was about number 6 in line, standing behind two small-sized young ladies, one with a toddler on her hip. There were as many people in a parallel line waiting to process passport applications. I was kinda spacing out, fiddling with my iphone when suddenly we all hear two female postal workers SCREAMING absolute bloody murder in the back room, still in sight of those of us in the lobby. This went on for a good 20 seconds or so and the women ran in the area behind the counter as there was still some commotion back there. Those of us in line were freaking and I think I ducked behind the woman with the baby. Speaking for us all, we pretty much assumed there was someone going postal back there. After everyone caught their breath one of the screamers apologized and explained the someone was shipping a large lizard and it had escaped from its container. There was an immediate sigh and chuckles of disbelief let out collectively from those of us in the lobby and I thanked the young mom for protecting me. My heart was pounding for a good half hour after that. It was a seriously terrifying 30 seconds and was this a day I chose to carry my side arm? No!
