So I was told by someone I respect to get this off my chest and keep moving. Sorry if this affects anyone in a certain way: I live for the others around me; always have-always will. The ultimate Libra downfall. All I have ever wanted is to be respected for the things I do and the love I have for them. With that being said, I have been searching for others approval as of late, wanting to bring something to Dallas that means something-bring something of value. Most times I suffer to make sure my team [community] gets what I feel they need. So its to my dismay that I sit on my couch every evening to realize that as much as I give--I cannot make everyone respect me. I work WAY too much. I have lost out on meaningful relationships both romantic and platonic for my selflessness and addiction to service. The more I give the more I lose, and still keeping a smile on my face I try to help those who mean to bury me. My friends still wonder how I can take the abuse and continue to work for the benefit of my city as they stone me. Thats what Stephen means. My name is derived from the Bible. Saint Stephen was a deacon, a speaker of the people. There were those who meant to end him for his strong beliefs. Blasphemers spread lies to have him stoned to death. All the while--he lived to serve his people. He was a martyr. I am a leader, I am the hated most of all. I will never be respected by most but by the few who share my beliefs and ideas for my people. I do not need the justification or approval of others. I do not need the acceptance of my peers and there will be some people that I will never clique with. I forgive you for your criticism and the stones you throw. I understand that my strong personality will either cause you to elevate yourself or become complacent your own short comings. Let it be known that I will continue to work for my city to promote the arts culture here and my dancers, with or without your approval. I will lose sleep to make you better while you do everything in your power to curse me. I do this because some of you do not have the ability to realize your greatness. I will force it out of you----and maybe after the battle is over and the dust settles, we can be friends.
