So I went ahead and purchased the most top end iMac 27 for a few reasons. The most important actually was that I was given special 18 month financing at 0 interest and I always pay those off on time so no problem there. Performance wise the intel broadwell i7 quad core with 3.5 with boost up to 3.9 ghz with 8 gig ram that is user upgradable to 32 gigs. And the 780m 4g GeForce graphics card is pretty over kill even for casual gaming. But since Im using my iMac for writing and production it should be more than addiquit and will keep the computer relevant for the new few years. And that was the biggest reason why I went with the 27 iMac now instead of waiting for the haswell chips that are just now shipping and some of these new haswell chips are simply the tock when the significant tick in performance will come in 2016. And its looking like those chips will be gears more towards tablets and MacBooks anyways. I gave myself a week to access all the info about the iMac 27 and I feel confident I made the right decisions. Apple did say new products are going to be ready for Xmas. We just dont know what those products are they are upgrading or simply refreshing. Over all Im pretty satisfied and Ill be picking it up next week. Hope this helps.
