So, I went to traffic court to ask the judge to lower my ticket for a California Roll, rolling around a right turn, and sat there for 3 hours listening to other tickets being lowered for speeding, marijuana, j-walking, and driving without a license, and when the first roll ticket came up, which was MINE, he refused to lower it! He said it tends to be a habit that a lot of people have and its got to stop because its dangerous. I proceeded to tell him how the cars were turning left in front of me and I could see for 100 yards in all directions because of the empty lot where a gas station used to be, but my crime seemed to be the worst that day, and even though I havent gotten a ticket for anything in over 10 years, he made me pay the full $499 for turning right. Speeding tickets were less than that, so was having pot in the car, and what blew my mind was a bunch of Spanish speaking people who got a translator appointed only had to pay $25 for driving without a license! Lawyers got to go first, and one of their clients was my doctor! She didnt have a California license, was speeding, and passed an emergency vehicle. Hers was postponed for trial.
