So Im gonna get sappy for a minute but, I really wanted to give a shout out to one of my dearest blood brothers and since I was slammed during Thanksgiving and didnt give my thankfuls Im due. Hahaha. About two years ago I kindled a friendship with a certain guitar player about collaborating on some shows for the upcoming Spring. We kindled a fast friendship and hit it off greatly immediately. Once we played though I realized there was much more to it. A few months passed and then we struck out on a Summer tour run. Now the changes were becoming more obvious. A fire that had been long missing from my playing was surfacing. Id been so focused on what the industry wanted me to do for so long that I had unconsciously buried part of who I as to adapt to the molds of artist life and being a sideman. I didnt even realize it was missing until it started to resurface and then it became like a drug and I had to have more and more and I havent looked back since. Even the fans immediately noticed as I began to play with more passion and ferocity and it was most of all ME. #AngryJazz While the Phoenix had apparently been lying in wait for the chance to arise, it was astounding to see the transformation. I have to thank the vehicle that made this possible and has since ignited my fires. We are constantly supporting each other and are always looking for the right chance to showcase this joint fire together but for now I want to thank my dear friend Neil Zaza for bringing me back. I know you wont see this message coming bro and you wont feel you did anything special but just us being us and allowing me my full freedom to dig into myself has sparked something I had been missing and it continues to grow. If any of my fans are curious what this is about as far as Neil check this out. Passion, artistry and fire all in a perfectly executed package. It sure doesnt suck when I get to actually be a genuine fan of my friends.
