So Im in here doing my morning prayers and this comes to me......I know a couple of people who are trying to get an understanding of the way things work with God......they want to know why they arent being blessed, why their prayers arent being answered, so on and so forth, and in that questioning, they are losing faith and doubting God. But this is what was put on my heart and its funny because it shows Gods sense of humor! This is exactly how it was given to me: People dont understand how electricity works but they trust when they flick the switch their lights will come on. People dont understand how their smoke detectors work, but if there is a fire, they trust that the smoke detectors will detect the smoke and work. People dont understand how their cars work, but they trust that if they go out and turn the key in the ignition it will start and if it doesnt start, then they know it is something on their part that they didnt keep up with for their car to work properly! Its funny to me how we are quick to doubt God, but we dont ever question if we are the ones doing the wrong thing or if we are the one who isnt doing enough! We say well I tried Lord or well I guess that isnt what God had for me, but where is the faith in that? Do you really know what faith is? Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen! Substance is a physical thing, faith is strong belief in God, hope is a wish, and evidence is proof! So to say it in a way that may be more understandable is to say Strong belief in God is the proof of the physical thing you wish for! The point being if you dont strongly believe God for it, then you more than likely may not get it. Heres another thing about faith, it has to be unwavering! What does that mean? That means constant, firm, fixed, steady, untiring! How many times have you let your faith waiver? How many times have you just given up because you grew tired, unsteady, unconstant, unfixed, or no longer firm? God didnt say believe and then stop, He said believe and keep believing! Even when you get what you desire, believe some more! Here is the entire truth as to why a lot of our prayers dont get answered: its because in everything that we do, it is suppose to be for God to get the glory, but our prayers are usually selfish and even when we arent being selfish, we still are without even noticing it! Heres an example of an unnoticeable selfish prayer although its intended for someone else: Lord I ask that you heal my family member, in Jesus name. Not only is it a selfish prayer its a doubtful prayer and although we tend to mean it for good and were sincere and yes in the end God gets the glory, its a prayer of what we want for our family and the doubt is because the bible tells us that everything is already done because Jesus done it on the cross! Heres how it wouldnt be selfish or doubtful: Lord I know that by Your stripes my family member is healed, Lord I ask that You lead me in this prayer by giving me the right and proper way to pray for my family member, lead me in what to pray for, for them in Jesus name! I hope you see the difference! Now a prayer is a prayer and I believe God hears all prayers so Im by no means saying your prayers are going unheard nor am I saying they are going unanswered, Im simply saying use your faith, another important tip is to line it up with Gods word, (and I dont mean just pick the part you want to apply to your life, we have to take it in totality) and watch God work in your life!
