So Im working on this mix and its so massive that I only have enough voices to work on the vocals or instruments at one time! My solution was to get the instrumental roughed in and print it. I then put it into the session, routed it through the same bus processing and disabled all of the instruments. I then turned my attention to the vocals and worked on them until they were in a good place, printed that and went back to the instrumental. I have gone back and forth a few times, refining as I go and while I thought it would be a pain to do, it has actually turned out to be a really great way of working. Working this way has forced me to focus rather than jumping back and forth or working on whatever catches my attention and then when I switch over to working on the other it feels new enough to be excited again. Anyone else work this way?
