So Ive come to notice that most of the members of this group are Christian. Thats fine I guess. I am an atheist. If you Christians wanted to convert me, how would you suggest that I begin a relationship with God? My problem with the whole thing is this: It seems to me that the only real incentive I could possibly have to become Christian is to avoid the penalty of hell. And so, the only way I could ever form a relationship with God is by acting out of fear. Is fear really an incentive that can form a loving relationship? I just cant seem to see any good reason to love a God if its solely out of fear of what would happen if I reject him. How is that love? How can anyone possibly find comfort in that type of thing?
