So Ive decided it doesnt matter what time I go to Safeway it becomes my social hour (literally). Tonight after chatting my way thru the store I headed to Brians line as usual. In the front of the line is a young mother with her child who when it comes time to pay she cant find her card...transaction suspended and she stands at the end calling someone. In front of me is a boy in his 20s (possibly a little slow, but very happy) and hes with a VERY grumpy older lady. They pay for their groceries and then I hear the boy ask Brian how much the young mothers groceries were because they would like to pay. The grumpy (emotionless) lady pays and they start to walk off. Brian lets the young mom know her groceries are paid for. She had tears, I even had tears (I know big surprise), the boy smiling and the grumpy lady remained emotionless...but it made my night to witness this. Then I think why didnt I think of that...maybe next time. 😃
