So Ive determined that this will be my last year freelancing. I got an offer to possibly get into working full-time for a major animation studio come this fall, and Im over here praying, crossing fingers and meditating for that to go through. But even if it doesnt, Ill be jumping out the game to start writing and illustrating my own work, grinding on the convention scene, etc., since that was the primary reason I started back picking up the pencils--to put out my own material. I enjoy working on many independent projects, helping some insanely creative and talented writers in the game create new stories, but making a decent living doing it is out the question, which leaves me really no time to work on my own material working 8-12 hours/7 days a week. This Trill League concept has opened some crazy doors for me in the past couple of weeks with some heavy hitters in the game helping me out to advance my career, plus 2,500+ followers since dropping this thing tells me I need to shift more focus to it. Plus I get to be an idiot writing this Trill League stuff -- something I do very, very well. So yea man, hoping either one of these ventures go through. This studio thing would be sweet though...Id finally get a chance to start working with a lot of the cats that inspired me to get into the pro game. Plus every brotha who I have major respect for in the pro game shifted from comics to animation, so Im feeling like its probably where Im headed as well.
