So Ive wanted to do this post for a while, and although the Kris stuff is old news - him and Luhan have been popping up more recently in the news. When the Kris thing first happened, I turned all my blame onto SM. To be honest, I compared it A LOT to the Hangeng situation, even though it isnt even that similar considering that Hangeng was pushed into the back of Sujus performances, didnt get any lines and was barely promoted - whereas Kris was in every CF and MV, as well as being made leader of M. As you all know there was a lot of speculation over whether he had a varied amount of dreadful illnesses, which meant he could barely work. But actually, seeing as he happily jumped into the acting scene at the drop of a hat, never contacted the fans and kind of left everything hanging I’ve lost a lot of respect for him. A lot of stars, worldwide, enter a singing career to get into acting… I know that acting naturally follows a music career anyway, but sometimes I question whether Kris – seeing how quickly he started filming, was using his being Exo as a way to get movie roles rather than actual passion for singing. It does seem slightly odd that he was well enough to film a movie – even though that is not easy at all, but refuses to take part in Exo’s stuff because of his health… I obviously don’t know why Kris actually left but it is all kind of strange. Whereas Luhan turned down acting offers BECAUSE of his health, which makes more sense to me. SM obviously has a plan for each of their artists – that’s why D.O started acting early, and Chanyeol does more variety stuff, but in time – one by one they will get the opportunities they want, just like Suju. But if Kris didn’t see singing as his dream or priority, I dont think he should have just joined a band to get into acting (IF that is the case). When you join a band - the band is your priority at the start, Im sure Kris would have been able to have acting opportunities later, but things like that follow a set plan that focuses on promotion etc. I dont even know anymore, it just sort of pisses me off.
