So Kevin Durant isnt a fan of his new nickname The Slim Reaper which upsets me a little because it is actually a creative nickname! He said he prefers his old one KD. Its probably just me but I think that nicknames lately have become very week. Alex Rodriguez=A-Rod (or A-Roids) only slightly more creative is Francisco Rodriguez= K-Rod. Manny Ramirez=ManRam. Shaquille ONiel=Shaq. Ladanian Tomlinson=LT. Lawrence Taylor=LT. Kevin Garnett=KG, Miguel Cabbrera=Miggy or Cabby (either way not a ton of thought put in) What happened to truly great nicknames? Tennessee Lightning, Sultan of Swat, Dr.J, Round Mound of Rebound, The Worm, Sweetness, The Bus, The Refrigerator, Teddy Ballgame, and one of my personal favorites The Say Hey Kid. Now this generation isnt without its good nicknames. Adrian Peterson=All Day, Johan Franzen=The Mule (given to him by my favorite Steve Yzerman=The Captain) David Ortiz=Big Papi, and my favorite nickname of all time Kobe Bryant=The Black Mamba! I think Durant should embrace his new name. Lord knows The Slim Reaper has been slaying defenses this year.
