So Manmohan Singh is out. Rahul Gandhi’s dreams of becoming the prime minister of the nation have been shattered. And last night I was watching ‘The King’s speech’(3rd time) – “The story of King George VI of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, his impromptu ascension to the throne and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch become worthy of it.” Two movie quotes have been oscillating in my mind since morning because these two quotes define these two fine gentlemen really well. If Im King, wheres my power? Can I form a government? Can I levy a tax, declare a war? No! And yet I am the seat of all authority. Why? Because the nation believes that when I speak, I speak for them. But I cant speak. - King George VI for Manmohan Singh In the past all a King had to do was look respectable in uniform and not fall off his horse. Now we must invade peoples homes and ingratiate ourselves with them. This family is reduced to those lowest, basest of all creatures, weve become actors! - King George VI for Rahul Gandhi It’s a brilliant movie, do watch it!
