So.... My daughter just came home from working a booth at the Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff held last night and today at Main Beach. We both worked this event last year and it was a fun time for all with a pretty good turn-out. I am dismayed at the news she told me of this years event. Apparently there was fencing around the perimeter and an entry fee of $5 per person was being charged? This was not shown on the Cookoffs website - Was it advertised anywhere in advance? She said their booth was near the gate and that a high percentage of the people who came were unaware of the charge and left without entering when they found out about it. The booth she was working had a seriously lower sales volume from last years when there was no entry fee. Whats the story on this?
