So You Think You Can Dance last Tuesday night on Channel 2(St.Louis)Jasmine Harper and Aaron Turner: Amy and Fik-Shun tend to get the lion’s share of the judges’ praise, but this couple deserves just as much, perhaps more since they were saddled with the dreaded quickstep this week (courtesy of Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin) instead of a fun character routine like Amy and Fik-Shun. Not only did Jasmine and Aaron master the tough ballroom technique, they put so much personality into it they made the quickstep fun, as the extended cheering from the studio audience would attest. “The kiss of death ... on this show? I think not, it’s alive and kicking,” Murphy said, referring to the supposed curse that befalls couples who draw quickstep from the hat.
