So a 36 years old lady,G6P6(1 set of twin) at 27 weeks 3 days,non local from an estate came to my clinic yesterday with high BP and having impending eclampsia symptoms with urine protein 1+.Given nifedipine,IM MgSo4,ranitidine and maxolon.PE profile done.However,she doesnt have passport and only have RM5 in her pocket.RM5,even bomoh also will not accept her case.Referred to specialist at tertiary centre and already know what the answer is,further manage in district hospital first,but eventually need to be sent to the tertiary centre too today.This is what Ive already expected to encounter sooner or later and with so many nonlocals here in my area,the morbidity and mortality numbers will definitely increase.I really hope the tertiary centre will change its policy of imposing a heavy RM800 deposit to them as I feel,we dont have the right to decide their life and death.Doctors shouldtreat and save all kinds of people...
