So apparently if you have an excavator and know how you to use it, you can rule the neighborhood. I think NOT!!! Our bully of a neighbor decided to resolve his field drainage issues by digging me a new ditch. He dug a huge flat trench down the municipal ditch in front of my house, leading to the drainage ditch which he dug on his side of the property line. A few problems with this 1. The ditch is several inches lower than my driveway culvert, leaving nowhere for the water to run. 2. He didnt dig it in front of his own property, he only dug it front of mine. 3. He left mounds of dirt all up the banks, making it impossible to cut or maintain. 4. Its Public/Municipal land and he didnt have a permit. We have had drainage issues here for years, thats why the hockey rink in the winter. This has made it worse. Now the water has NO where to go. I have many words for someone like this...but none of them are very nice, so I edited my original post.
