So, apparently the Telstra Technical Support Team is calling me at 10:30 on a Saturday night. According to them, my computer has been downloading unknown, illegal files, and they are offering the service of fixing it. I called their bluff by asking them to send me an email outlining the problem. Im going to call actual Telstra tomorrow so they know their name is being used. I obviously dont fall for scams like this, but if anyone has any older relatives, it might be a good move to let them know what to do in situations like this (ask for their Telstra ID number etc.)... Id hate for someone to get ripped off.
