So, as a bit of a Christmas-week treat, here is some fun footage of two of the Pine Martens that I have been photographing over the summer. This footage was taken in the last few days, and clearly shows the unique bond that these animals have with each other. According to papers that I have read, it seems to be the general opinion that these animals are not sociable outside of the breeding period. But I have had this pair coming in for over a year together. It was also clear when four of them trotted through the woods towards me, one beautiful sunny evening back in June, that it was a family unit; Mum, Dad and their 2 youngsters. I am hoping that the learning and the research (as well as the photography), will continue in 2015, and the years following. This is a fantastic opportunity for me - to hopefully learn so much more about these adorable animals. By the way... Ignore the date on the screen... I forgot to set the date and time!
