So as a vet with Lyme Im always on the lookout for Lyme in animals or anything suggestive of it. My understanding is that dogs dont ever get an EM rash but a tick bite can set off an inflammatory reaction around a bite. Today I saw a dog with a very prominent bullseye... I carried out a 4DX test which tests anaplasma, Lyme with Quant C6 and a couple other things... I will let you guys know the outcome. The owner reports the dog has been lethargic for the past 2 months (which precedes this lesion) and she has just moved house and had a baby! Anyone else noticed a tick with a lesion similar on their pets? Poss if Lyme is emerging and evolving maybe we will start seeing an EM rash in animals??
