So as the conference that I am attending gets kicked off with a small group playing the bag pipes and the flag is brought in I am feeling a little upset. When the whole room begins to say the pledge of allegiance with ALL of their hands over their heart, I start bawling. Its so upsetting to be in a room full of people who put their lives on the line every day so that others may live, and they have an unwavering devotion to their country and what that flag represents. They say all of the words with pride and meaning so deeply. And yet our own president doesnt believe or honor the very symbol that represents everything so many have died for. The flag is supposed to represent our freedom! But we are being forced to take his half assed health care! I cant help but think in this moment all of the things this president has done or is doing to tear this great nation a part! I am honored to be among a large group of givers even though Obama has created an even larger group of takers! Sorry about the rant, just proud and sad at the same time.
