So everyone is putting out these Year in Review videos, but Im not a big fan of letting Facebook dictate my life. So instead, you get a Daniel Brocato Year in Review from yours truly. 2014 was a hell of a ride so Ill try to keep it as short as I can. For starters, I became and uncle. I didnt become an uncle once. I became and uncle twice. My sister Kristin Brocato Boehm had a wonderfully rambunctious baby boy in February, and my sister-in-law Natalie Brocato has a beautiful little baby girl in May. Becoming an uncle does something to you. You get this overwhelming feeling of pride, but in reality, you really didnt do anything to deserve it. Its awesome. A few months after all of that happened I got engaged to my best friend Lindsay Marie. More importantly she said yes, which is nice. Its incredible to look back on the history of our relationship and see how much we have grown and matured individually, but also as a couple. I guess you get to know someone over the course of eight years. Thats quite a year in itself, but after two long years of saving my money I was able to afford a great little starter home in Prairie Village thanks to my will power and realtor Marty Siess. I plan on many years of friends and family coming over and enjoying it with Lindsay and I. Overall its been quite a jump from 2013 to 2014. The first half of 2013 I was shotgunning beers, going to bed at 2:00 AM, fratting hard, and fighting growing up. Now I feel like Im settling into becoming a grown-ass man, and the weird part is, I kinda like it. So heres to 2014, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. That was better than a video.
