So everyone knows we have two terriers (or terrierists as I call them). We have a chain out in our yard to tie them up and we also have a utility pole in our yard with a guide a wire. This morning Gizmo got wrapped around the wire. Usually if it is one wrap the figures out to walk back around the wire and gets herself loose, but her doggy ADD must have really kicked in this morning and she got wrapped around twice. She sat out by the pole shivering until I came out and unwrapped her (and boy is it chilly this morning ). Anyway, she wont let me lead her on her tie out, so I had to hold on to her collar, unwrap the chain, and then hook the chain back to her so she could come inside. If I leave her off the chain she decides to explore uncharted territories and wont listen. When I put her back on the chain, instead of following me in a straight line to the door, she runs in an arc around the yard to meet me at the door(which is her usual routine). I realized this morning how I often get myself tangled around situations, events, say things I shouldnt say and do things I shouldnt do, often times not even realizing where it will lead (you know seemed like a good idea at the time) until Im wrapped around that guide wire, shivering in the cold. Just as I go untangle the Giz dog, I depend on God to come untangle me from the situations of life. Then I often times turn back and run my own path again. How much easier would my life be if I just followed Him across the yard to the door? Father, thank you for always being faithful, for your unconditional love. Father, you are the only one who can restore, I pray you restore family relationships, untangle us all Lord. I pray the Holy Spirit guides us in all that we say and do. Give us your eyes and your heart. In Jesuss mighty name I pray Amen
