So far I have appointments to see an endocrinologist, a pain specialist and an acupuncturist. I received a call today with lab results. My A1c is 8.4, which is not good. Should be below 7. I told doc that I have had high cholesterol before, but the statins used to lower it (Lipitor) make my legs ache. It is still high, so now Ill be looking at low fat/low cholesterol diet. In regards to the X-ray, there is considerable space between the C4/C5 and C6/C7 vertebrae. I will consult w pain specialist but will use acupuncture to treat unless results are too slow. What use to be tingling in my right hand (7 or so years ago), then waking up to a numb right arm, to all the previous now plus a pounding/throbbing - all at one time and always while Im sleeping or first thing in the morning. Bending my elbow for more than one minute also causes my hand to fall asleep making it virtually impossible to fill out paperwork of any kind as I cant hold the pen (or put on makeup, etc). I am not against pain meds, unfortunately my stomach is. Really, all I want, is a good nights sleep.
