So for those of you that missed my post on the 5th, I shared about the Hindu celebration of Navaratri, the nine nights of the goddess. It’s a celebration that honors all aspects of the goddess. Worship of The Divine as Mother is a special characteristic of the Indian Culture. God is mostly referred as the Father of all creation or the Omnipotent ruler of Nature in other religions. Navaratri happens to be the most auspicious and unique period of devotional sadhanas and worship of Shakti (the sublime, ultimate, absolute creative energy of the Divine conceptualized as the Mother Goddess-Durga, whose worship dates back to prehistoric times before the dawn of Vedic age.) The first 3 nights were devoted to Durga/Kali the warrior aspect of the goddess. The next three are dedicated to my all time fave goddess, Maha Laskshmi. Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), fortune, and the embodiment of beauty. Lakshmi means the One who accomplishes Goals and Her blessings will help you increase your finances and achieve your goals. Lakshmi is the Goddess of Wealth and symbolizes prosperity, purity, chastity and generosity. An aura of divine happiness, mental and spiritual satisfaction, and prosperity always exist around her. She bestows the wealth of positivity and dissolves your scarcity consciousness. Everything auspicious belongs to Lakshmi. Even the very word “Lakshmi” means auspicious. What can you do to honor this aspect of the goddess? How do you embody Maha Lakshmi?
