So, here are my 6 am ramblings this morning.... Ive had a thought on my mind for a week now and I woke up at 5 am with scripture in my mind and I felt the need to share what Ive been thinking. Revelation 3:14-16 NLT 14 To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of Gods creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Ive been thinking so much about how we get comfortable in our faith day to day, especially when things are going well for us. We get lukewarm and go through the motions. This is so dangerous! Last week at the concert I went to, everyone was SO excited over Luke Bryan... Jumping, screaming, singing out with hands in the air for this celebrity. Obviously, I think he is a great singer too and was right there with everyone...but it got me thinking.... Why do we have this passion for a worldly man yet we are so calm in our praise of The Lord? Why do we go through the motions when we worship at church but really let ourselves and emotions free when we see an earthly celebrity? Literally, women were crying as he came onto stage. Im not saying we shouldnt enjoy concerts or be excited, but where is that FIRE in our relationship with The Lord?!! Why is HE not getting the best of us... We certainly get the best from Him, always. We need to really let down our walls when we worship and realize why we are here on this earth. Why do we so often seem ashamed or afraid when we worship. Its not about country music stars or football players or our favorite movie stars. Because when we look at who is truly amazing, I would say that our Lord is the clear winner. So, lets start living and worshipping like that! Lets shout it from the rooftops and feel the fire!!! Just my long rambling this morning!!!! :).
