So here is my first impression of the Jamberry wraps vs. polish - TopicsExpress

So here is my first impression of the Jamberry wraps vs. polish after my first application on my own. First let me say, I would rather someone not buy something from me than buy something and not be happy with it. Its for that reason that Im gonna put it to you straight...it really was waaaay easier than I thought it was going to be. Something about the whole process was a little intimidating. I was thinking of those sticky neon vinyl book wraps we used to use in elementary and middle school ( I know yall remember them. It was the same time period as tight rolled jeans and lots of hair spray). With those things, once you put them on the book, you had better be sure it was right because it was never gonna stick if you tried to redo it and there would be bubbles EVERYWHERE! So when they said vinyl nail wraps...thats what I was envisioning. Anyway, these are NOTHING like the book wraps. Super easy! I will say, when they tell you on the video that you shouldnt touch them with your fingers, listen. The oil from your fingers will keep them from sticking well and you will end up having to redo that part. An orange stick or cuticle pusher is perfect for handling them. My other observation is that they are WAAAAYYYYYYY more shiny than any polish I have EVER used. Ive use all the best top coats (from OPI and SecheVite to Butter London and Deborah Lipmann and any other high end brand found in Sephora or Ulta (yes, I realize I might have an addiction)) and never have I ever gotten a top coat to look as shiny as these do. But Im like a raccoon...I LOVE shiny stuff! My third observation, they are far quicker than even a single color application of polish. In order to get 4 to 6 days out of a polish, I would have to do the following: chip resist by OPI ($12) Butter London Base Coat ($19) White polish (this makes your color look far more vibrant) by China Glaze ($6.99) Nail Color ($4.00-$20) Butter London Top Coat ($19) Fast Drying Drops ($12) I have to let each layer dry before doing the next and this takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The hardest part for me being the waiting once its all done. Even with the fast drying drops I always managed to mess up my nails before they dry. The nail wraps took me 20 min. I imagine I will become far more proficient at it as I get more comfortable with it. So.. this is my comprehensive comparison of polish vs. Jamberry (long winded I know, but knowledge is power. And I just like to talk :-) Wanna check out the process for yourself, here is the video :-) youtu.be/KaykpuMe53w
