So here is my theory on the Benteke saga lads. I always believed (and I’m sure a few would corroborate me on this from weeks ago) Benteke wanted to go from the end of last season. Whilst Lambert & Villa knew that they held the cards, they knew this situation was inevitable. The reason I thought this a few weeks ago was the fierce marketing that was going on with shirt sales, season ticket renewals, multiple daily emails etc – it was like they were striking whilst the iron was hot, as if they only had a certain amount of time before said iron went cold. Sales dip when something less than positive happens and it looked like AVFC wanted to make the most of the high, For me, I knew something negative was on the horizon and with the signing of Helenius put 1 + 1 together. I firmly believe that Lambert has already got that gem to replace Benteke (if he does leave). Helenius is that man. In Lambert I trust. (Peter)
