So here is the citric acid I used for acidifying alkaline papers - TopicsExpress

So here is the citric acid I used for acidifying alkaline papers for VDB (Vandyke Brown) that I posted several days ago. Its $8 lb at Ace Hardware, but if you go to artcraftchemicals you can get citric acid for about $4.50 lb in a 4.5lb amount (both USA companies). Hence, in a pinch, Instant Power Toilet Tank Cleaner by Scotch is good to go but much better to buy citric acid in bulk. Serdar Bilicis acidification with sulfamic is even cheaper, $6 lb at Home Depot (USA). Ph difference is Citric is pH 2.08, sulfamic pH 1. No wonder sulfamic does such a good job! But in a school darkroom citric may be the way to go with Risk and Safety checking our every move...anyway, thought Id post these inelegant photos as a followup to the lovely student work.
