So, here is the scoop on the immigration thing for the last couple days. Remember, last month I go there and all my documents are in order except they added a new requirement. An NBI (FBI) Clearance Certificate. I ask the lawyer if I could go get it today and come back to finish it up knowing we had all afternoon to get it and it only took Jeosa about 15 minutes hers in Palawan. She said sure, so we rushed across town, waited in line for hours, got my photo and prints, filled out some documents, then they gave me a receipt and said call us in about three weeks to see if we have it ready yet. By this time, it is after 5:00 PM and all government offices close including immigration. So, we go back the next morning and talked to the same layer and she said it was a new rule and we have to have it and come back when you get it, yes, I was pissed, but smiled and said ok, see you in about three weeks (that was last month). So, last week I called the NBI and ask if my certificate was ready. They said it was and I could come and get it any time. That Friday evening I decided to check the immigration website for any more changes and additions, and guess what, there was three more requirements added and my flight was Monday morning. I only had to have a layer do one up because I already had the other two and he did a lot of notarizing. Monday, hopped on the plane and went straight to the NBI and walked in front of about 200 people waiting and told them I called and mine was ready to pick up, got it and left for Immigration. Get to Immigration counter 1 and the lady said “All your documents and requirements are complete, but you have to apply back in Mindanao (another new rule). Needless to say I talked to the layer and her boss all day long. Her boss made some phone calls and I showed him some documents from last year when I applied through him that I brought with me. They decided to give me the interview in the morning and approved it. Funny how things work when you catch people in a lie and being corrupt.
