Quinn vetoed -Rahm/Rauner take 2 seconds to find investors since River Casino has been a huge success. -Its built at McCormick Place East (already has an auditorium for entertainment) or the former Michael Reese site that is fallow and the city is paying interest on the land right now. -A small auditorium (10,000 for DePaul basketball) and hotel are already approved and planned nearby. -Income from gambling site is used exclusively to pay down pension debt. Everyone wins. Rauner, Rahm, their friends, state, city, jobs, unions, pension woes, lower tax promise. Loser. Indiana casinos since 90% of the patrons are from Chicago, Too bad With the casino, auditorium and Lucas museum opening the parking lots would be a lot fuller...maybe needing a parking complex (more tax $ without raising taxes)
