So heres one of our challenges..... Last year DUENDE worked with the first year students at Hudderfield. We used as our inspiration Mary Shellys fantastic, visionary, political and feminist masterpiece Frankenstein. And we set ourselves the challenge that we would NEVER see the monster...... So this year the challenge is this: In many ways 1984 is a brutal book. So we will NEVER show any violence. There will be threat, surveillance, insubordination, stolen moments of joy and bliss. There may be human victories and human defeats. But we will do it all without showing any actual physical violence. I like a challenge.....
