So heres the thing; the reason were all here. Squarehead has been about two years in the making - now we plan to get the book into print and get copy into your hands. Were going to do it via Kickstarter. Whats that? Well, its a new way to fund creative projects. Kickstarter is full of projects, big and small, that are brought to life through the direct support of people like you. Actually the idea isnt that new - Mozart, Beethoven, Whitman, Twain, and other artists funded works in similar ways — not just with help from large patrons, but by soliciting money from smaller patrons. In return for their support, these subscribers received an early copy or special edition of the work. Kickstarter is an extension of this model, turbocharged by the web. Squarehead started with a Facebook status: Square head - round thoughts. Margit replied with a drawing...and Squarehead was born. Its the story of a little boy who feels like he doesnt fit in - hes a square peg in a round hole. Its a story for any child (or grown up) who has felt like a misfit at one time or another. Like all good stories it has a big Hairy Scary Monster and a dog - and dont worry, it all works out in end. We hope to have Squareheads page up on Kickstarter by the end of the week.
