So in my ninth hour in the pit of the Berkeley library, i had an epiphany. Why spend my life slaving away, reading cases and political journals because The Man says so. Too many hours have been wasted when I could be out enjoying my youth. Why do we even need a college degree? Because some fat cat in a suit says so? I say NO to that. If I want to be a barrister or solicitor, I dont need this course. I can just do my own thing and go straight to Kings Inn! If I want to be a politician I dont need this course (God knows Enda Kenny didnt need it, am I right?). Social convention told me I needed to study Law and Political Science in Trinity, College Dublin (and wasnt it big news in Mooncoin when I got accepted), but I am saying NO to social convention, NO to The Man, and YES to following my dreams, passions and desires!! And I urge you all to do the same. MaeLow out xxx
