Parents of legal Americans who are not citizens, can become citizens if have lived in the U.S. for five years or longer, register, pass a criminal background check and pay taxes. Illegals who came here as children, as it was no fault of their own, as long as they meet certain education, public safety criteria, and pass a criminal background check can be granted temporary status, allowing them to work and requiring they pay taxes. Giving them a chance to earn their citizenship. It will be easier for students in fields that we need more people in, to come into our country and entrepreneurs who can prove they will create jobs by coming in to come in. So basically he is cracking down on criminals, not families. Cracking down on the boarder (by refocusing resources properly) . It also holds those already here and those who come accountable as illegal immigrants.
