So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to - TopicsExpress

So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 It is very encouraging that Gods word will not return empty. It is very motivating to know that Gods Word will always accomplish Gods purpose. Declaring Gods Word will always accomplish its purpose leaves you with the inescapable question what then is its purpose? The story that the Word of God contains guarantees a time when all creation will bow and worship of God. All sin is idolatry and graces work is to reclaim the deepest desires, passions, thoughts, and motives of our heart for God. This confronts us with the fact that the content in theology of the Word of God is not an end in itself but must be viewed as a means to an end. The intended and of this content is God honoring the life shaping worship. Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling
